So let us take a look at the "fair to all" Utopian approach, Say the AMA categorizes the aircraft we fly and assigns a risk factor and imposes a premium to each category and then to continue in the interest of fairness, assigns another rate structure for those who fly multiple aircraft types, we must also be fair and have another rate structure for the area we live/fly in, how many times a year we fly, and let us not forget a higher premium for those that file a claim. Before you know it the AMA gets so bureaucratic they have to double maybe triple the dues to cover added overhead cost, and we now are gripping at a $17.00 annual increase. I know this is as far fetched a thought as it gets and may God help us if any part of this bizarre prediction should come to fruition, but when you start talking about fair and equitable you run the very real risk of lifting the top on this Pandora's Box. My vote is KISS, Keep it Simple Stupid.
