I only have one glass fuse plane and can't recall what was used as a push rod but I will look. I have never had a kit give me a balsa push rod but I have had them offer the hardwood dowel. I know my CG Extra has two dowels for the elevator halves. Not sure if I did that myself or not, that plane is a couple decades old.
