You can actually cover wingtips with an iron.....some people prefer to work with heat guns but a glove is sometimes helpful there. I stick to one flavor of film (when not using silkspan or fabric) and I would need to "play" with covering a piece of scrap if I were to change brands. They each have their own preferred temperature and time/tension requirements. I built one of the Mountain kits some time back and it really flies well.
