What has the nose gear being to long got to do with bouncing a landing. If you hit on the nose gear you are doing something really wrong!
Delta Mike's plane has the stock original gear all around and it sits perfectly level on the ground. I have probably watched him land it about 100 times and don't remember any bouncing problems and damn sure none from the nose gear being to long.
