Right now the valve is mounted with bolts down. Im thinking to install it bolt up.

When the piston is on the way up the cylinder and the piston ring goes past the top of the intake ports, the vacuum created in the crankcase sucks a new charge via the reed valve. There is no operational benefit in pointing the reed valve up the cylinder but it may interfere with the conrod and crankpin on the circular motion up. Not a good idea but if you insist you wish to try please share your experience.
