My dogs would be indignant to be considered kids. They believe they run the place and make the rules. They think they are being magnanimous overlooking my failure to take their commands or overlooking their hints at what they want.
We have a hound dog, who sleeps in the bed with us, normally between my feet, a Siamese cat who sleeps on my wife's neck, and a 4 year old son who thankfully sleeps in his bed usually. Between those 3 and lots of RC cars and various other man/boy toys, especially the ones i don't have yet, I get most of the stimulation i need to be happy.
