I was really wanting a thin skinned "light" class IR battler. The kit is fine, just more of a boutique style kit. Needs tweaking and is more geared towards being a motorized model, not an r/c.
I just got turned off by the Elmod fusion board for it to do battling. No parameters for a drag break so the sucker has too much inertia for battling purposes. You let go of the throttle and your still moving another 2 feet. May not be as much of a problem with the recommend 55T motor but then your not getting scale speeds. Definitely a cool kit and if your just looking to drive around your house or backyard it's unique for sure. Also a plus that they have the rotation unit available. Wasn't available when I got mine. Still nothing for recoil, I had to bore the barrel out on the lathe and make up some linkage/brackets to go off a servo. I'd recommend going through my build thread to see what I came across and what had to be addressed.
