Spit66...Thanks for chiming in !....I reinforced the rear inside of the firewall with 3/8 ply and then lined both insides of the forward fuse area about 6 inches up to the fire wall with 4mm Marine grade ply and then put in triangular gussets wherever I could on the inside to connect all these pieces.
The forward fuse fiberglass part doesn't seem to glued very well to the box construction which protrudes from the fuse...so I'll probably add gussets to the top and bottom of the engine box on the outside as I have already done on the sides.
There is a pic on this thread where the engine just ripped out of the front of the plane ! I am using a G-62 for now and am sure the mods I am doing will be Ok.
Good point on checking the locator pins in the forward wing......not sure of the best way to get in there, will have to take a peak inside tomorrow to see what can be done.
I will try to post a few pics tomorrow of what I've done so far.
