The buyout of assets was by choice. HH bought what they know they can sell, and left the rest behind. TF and GP may still be held in the courts, don't know, only the lawyers do. With companies like Hobbico that has branches that go bankrupt, the assets can be broken up and sold to other companies instead of an all in one deal. Some companies just by the rights to the brand, and not the inventory. When the company bought Montgomery Wards, they didn't buy the IP addresses. Big mistake, they are worth millions. a full class B of real internet address space was ignored, and today each class C is worth at least $20,000 on the open market. With 250 class C blocks, that is 5 million dollars that were ignored.

Somewhere the rights for TF and GP are sitting in a folder somewhere. All it takes is an interested party to want them and negotiate a price to buy them.
