I am assuming you meant "toe-in" on the landing gear. Toe-in gives more stability than parallel wheels. Toe-out would give significant instability in taxiing/takeoff. I also have opened the cowl-flaps as you. I have the DLE-61. Great to hear about little to no trim change with gear down/up or flaps down/up.
No actually I do mean toe out. I’ve practiced this on all my planes for years and it is very helpful in calming down a plane upon landing. The amount is very subtle. In fact with retracts I’m counting on the inherent play in the strut scissor link to give the wheel just a couple degrees of toe out.
Toe in will typically aggravate a problem landing and cause a tank slapper from wing tip to wing tip.
