guys, I know people have used spacking paste on Bass, but knowing it has water in it will it work on Balsa without raising the Balsa ?? I have some testing now, but I feel the truth wont be shown till all water has evaporated, so maybe tomorrow,,, what you think

Red Devil or Dap lightweight (non vinyl) spackles work ok. I haven't tried the vinyl spackles so can't comment on those.

Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Filler is creamier and doesn't ball up and crumble like lightweight spackle. It's a little heavier but not problematic for filling purposes. It also adheres much better than spackle, it's closer to the color of balsa and sands easily. Thin with water if needed.

Note: Don't buy the Elmer's "Stainable" wood filler, it gritty and doesn't apply well.
