The other option for the flaps operation is same as described but there is no connection between the two torque rods. The outer flap is operated with a servo connected with rods and crank similar to the inner flap.
This demands allocating a high torque mini servo as the flap operator in such way that it is impossible to get it out for service without scrapping or tracking the servo mount.
Add to it the servo weight and this was way I have decided to use one servo option.
It is however doable and was done by others.
