Smashed up the club's trainer on Sunday 5th July through flying it in a strong wind and loosing it in the sun.
Never did like that model but I broke the Irvine 40s needle valve assembly in the crash and it's difficult to find new ones.
On the following day I ordered a Seagull Boomerang II to replace it and it arrived at 13.00 on Tuesday 7th July. Quite impressive I thought. The Boomerang is my favourite ARTF trainer by virtue of its semi symmetrical wing section which enables it to be flown in a stiff breeze. This is useful if you are teaching an "experienced beginner!".
Fortunately i have several spare engines to suit the Boomerang as well as a couple of spare carburetters which might fit the Irvine.
