I made the first flights with my Xcalibur today, July 27. Actually made four flights with my instructor pilot. He made the first one and trimmed it for normal flight, then take off flaps and finally landing flaps. I set up 3 flight modes in the DX9 which makes flying it easier. I did make a takeoff on flight 4. I’m not ready for landings just yet. All of my experience is with large scale Extras and Citabrias, etc. Many flights on these types of planes. Jets are a new gig but is already becoming a lot of fun. I love to learn as much as I can in this hobby, having been at it for quite a number of years.
My instructor pilot Likes the Xcalibur quite a bit and thinks it was a very good choice for a first turbine jet. He’s an excellent teacher and an expert jet guy so I’m lucky to have him and other experienced jet types at my field here in Columbus Ohio.
