update
tried all that, and not working yet.
If I bump the sticks, it recognizes that!! LOL
and slightly right rudder will make it change light.
but that is not what I want!
it will not recognize the P7 knob or the switch i tried, which was a 3 position switch
i also removed assignment to channel 17
and re did the whole thing.
no dice
then i assigned channel 18 and tried again
still no dice.
