The wings are really no problem at the field. It is important that you do the install of the joiners during assembly though. Actually, that is one portion of the VF instructions that is very thorough. I followed it to a tee and had no problems. If you go to the other VF thread, I posted a pic of my Edge in there with the wings removed.

David is right about the bellypan arrangement. I did not feel that the screws into the side of the fuse was the best way to go, so I made reinforcements on the two formers that the bellypan goes over. In the center of each I installed one brass insert for a 4-40 screw. So a total of two screws is all that holds my pan on and it's plenty. I would also suggest using nylon bolts for the landing gear.
