Default RE: Hobbico Airforce Airboat. HOW IS IT????

I got one early this year. I like it. Has a very unusual bottom to the hull, but works very well.

It turns very flat with little slide which is good if you run ovals. If you like to do tight 360's, you'll be disapointed and would be better off with a flat bottom 'swamp buggy' type hull. Several of us at our lhs are looking to do some bouy chasing this next year.

Since I had an extra radio and engine around, I got the ARR version, not the RTR. Mine is powered by an MDS .40 FS-1. The ARR is very easy to put together if you want to go that route. I haven't heard anything about the RTR, or how strong the engine is. But seems to be a good value.

Run times are disapointing with the stock tank though. About 4-5 minutes. A .40 size engine sucks the juice pretty fast. I took off the motor pod cowling and was able to fit a Sullivan 6oz rectangle tank. Anything larger would have a hard time fitting on the platform due to how the throttle linkage is attached to it.

You can check mine out in the RCU Gallery as well as in a couple threads here.
