Default RE: covering fuse on cub

The covering is stretched over the entire side. The raised stringer acts like a tent pole, holding the covering off the side of the fuse, so it rounds the side of the fuse a little. You don't want the sides to be flat (as they would be without the stringer), but stretched over the raised piece. Look at some of the websites or do a search for Piper Cub images for a better explanation. Look at the box your kit came with as well, usually they have some good photos to go by. I hope this helps.
