Default RE: How much have you spent on your mini electric heli

Hmm.. Here is the total for things that are specifically just for micro helicoptor use:

Hummingbird kit 79.99
Hummingboard 39.99
GWS flightpack 79.99
GWS gyro 49.99
2 birdseed batteries 19.98
crystal 11.99

Total = 281.93

Now, I've been thinking that I probably could have saved a few bucks on the flightpack, but this is still under 300 bucks for initial purchase of a flyable setup. I am using the Futaba 4-channel FM radio I already had..

I also incurred the following crash related expenses:

Main blades - 14.75
Tail rotor blade - 6.90
tailboom w/gearbox and horiz. fin support - 12.90
battery support set - 13.90
paddles & screws - 5.90

I also had to buy a real charger:
SuperBrain 969 - 99.99

Now the total is 426.37..
Opps, add about 2 bucks for the homemade safety skids!! (pingpong balls and wooden dowel)

I think this is still cheap, and flies in the face of those annoying LHS dudes that say (when you ask if they have micro heli parts) "Why don't you just buy a Raptor- it's way cheaper!!"
