it would not really make any difference in drag. however, the front of your lense would get dirty often because it is exposed. you could lengthen the battery lead and place it more rearward if you wish. every plane is different, so as to the actual specifics and how to get there, i can not really help. but a little bubble canopy on the front would keep it from getting dirty.
