If you don't like the looks of a Stick (neither do I) get a Great Planes Super Sportster then. It was my second plane and it didn't take much to transition from my trainer.

The 40 size is available as an ARF from Tower for $140 (I believe), and it will fly fine on a .40 size engine, faster with a .46.

Just don't use the wheel pants if flying off grass.
