Why not replace the socket since you had it out???

I heated up the glue around the tube and pulled it out, it took some time to get it out. I then slit the tube with a #11 blade, then put it back in the fuse with tape around the cut area, epoxy near the former to hold it firmly in place. This was well over 1 year ago and 100+ flights. It slides in and out w/o any problem. Good luck.
