RE: Cheap 1/2A starter
I made mine using a 540 motor and PVC tubing. The motor fits just right in an end cap. I drilled a holes in it for the shaft to go through as well as vent and mounting screw holes. I put on a short length the PVC tube with a small push button switch, more vent holes and put an end cap on it. You can make it long enough to put batteries in it or you could use wires to go your flight box panel. It's all in one smooth enclosed case.
