I have to agree with Bob (I usually do anyway). You have to look at all of the radios out there and see what features that you like and need. Remember that they are made for boats and cars so you wouldn't for instance need braking features. Some radios go a little over the top with trims, model memory and all kinds of bells and whistles. Get a decent FM or PCM radio with 2 channels and you'll be happy.
As for servos, you don't really need a 1/4 scale servo any more to get the torque that they put out. There are a lot on the market now in a standard size that have just as much, if not more torque and faster transit speed of the larger ones.
