Can someone tell me were the center of these two maneuver's are: In sportsman The figure N (Fig. 3) and the Goldfish (fig. 9).
Thanks
Actually, there is not a center to either one of these figures. This is because starting with this season IMAC has adopted what they call a "zoneless box". As such there are no longer the traditional center and end box areas.
Because of this you no longer need to worry about "centering" a figure as before. What is judged is the overall impression of the total sequence.
To further complicate matters you need to understand that a figure actually starts the moment you reach horizontal flight coming out of the previous figure. If it is the first figure of a sequence that starts the moment you depart horizontal flight.
So for instance, the Figure "N" in the 2004 Sportsman sequence actually starts the moment you level off from the Hammerhead that precedes it. SO that makes it very difficult to talk about the physical center of the figure.
Now, having said all that, if you choose to fly this figure directly in front of yourself (one possible way to fly the Sportsman sequence) I would recommend that you place the roll element directly in front of you. This will make it "look" centered, even though it is actually not centered.
Basically the same goes for the Goldfish. It starts the moment you level off from the vertical downline with the roll on it. If you choose to place it in front of you, I would have the cross over directly in front of myself. However, I would think it look better displaced to the side a bit.
Let me know if this makes and sense to you.
