The programs suggest the amount of torque and or force needed for a specific size control surface at a given speed. How you provide or realize the suggested numbers is another consideration.
Not sure what you are saying here. The Linkage program takes into account all of the geometry, and yields a servo torque needed. It calculates all of the "mechanical advantage" so to speak. You can juggle anything you want, control horn length, servo travel, servo arm length, etc.

Not sure what Lynx is talking about, this software does it all
