I'll second WM SS 40. It's one of the real jems out there, and you can't beat it for the price. If you really want a taildragger, I would say avoid the Seagull spacewalker. They do fly very nicely, and they're a great first "real" plane (one that actually stalls and won't just mush) but the ones I've seen (and flown personally) have had very tricky to takeoff. Just real squirlly on the ground, not the best first taildragger. IMHO.
