Hi Scott,
Personally I like the 1080Kv with the new 730 mah 3-cell. If you plan on flying indoors (low ceiling limited vertical maneuvers) the 860 2-cell is fine. This is what I flew at the ETOC because we only had a 2-minute flight and a 20 foot ceiling.

I truly think you'll enjoy the 3-cell performance more for most of the common flying situations.
