I'm a mechanic
so I have 'uni-bits' in the toolbox. (kinda expensive, although I've seen 'knock-offs' cheaper) I start it with the x-acto, use the bit with a home made handle, hand drill it to size, and finish with a light sanding. Perfect every time.
