I wouldn't over heat it ... I normally follow the baking instructions. Something thick may take a long time to bake. From my experience, it starts out white and bakes a lite greyish color, sometimes with a blue/grey tint if it gets too hot. Once that stuff bakes and gets hard, it's not melting!!
