I haven't had a chance to play with CS yet, but while giving it a very brief overview, I saw a new tool in there that looks pretty cool. But it would only be for severly modifying pictures (Like turning a car's round headlight into a heart shape)
Really, for 99.9999% of anything that the average person needs, V3.0 is good enough. In fact, for 90% of the professional stuff I do, I still use v5.5 And the only reaso I upgraded from 3.0 was for the Actions pallet (Which is a godsend for the amount of production work I do) and for the Image Ready sidecar program which I use to batch-convert catalog images into web graphics.
