Default RE: IMAC plane selection question?

Get an Edge, edges do the BEST 3D, and they can also fly IMAC very well. I have a 35% carden edge w\ a 3W 100, and I have it dialed in awesome, i will be competing in intermediate class this year in IMAC (SE Region). But I RARELY 3D my edge, waaaaaay toooooo much money!!! 2 weekends ago, i was just getting comfortable w\ my 33% Raven and I started doing things lower, and lower, and lower, until i was TRing about 10 ft up and gave full throttle to pull out, I held left ail to keep it rolling, then i slowly stuck both sticks in the top inner corners and it went into an inverted flatspin when the engine cut. I ended up straight and level about 10 ft high in the middle of the field with no airspeed and not enough runway, so I tried to bank and turn but it was useless, by the time i got turned around the plane stops flying, totaled the fuse (composite) it has soft spots everywhere.

The point of that story is, even if you know exactly what your doing, anything can happen, if ur TRing a 30% WH Edge and the engine cuts out, it will be totaled!!!! BTW, have you seen the video of Bill Hempels 50% edge crashing? The engine hesitated for like 2 seconds when he was in an inveted harrier and he couldnt save it.

Just do what funflyphil said about having a 40 size knock around, if 40 size is too small then go with a 90 size, if you cant afford a 90 size then you shouldnt be 3Ding it anyway!!! All of this is just my opinion.
