What .46? Considering the fact that the .46 will probably weight 50% more than a .21 and will probably not put out the power of a good marine racing engine, don't expect a lot more speed especially if the .46 is not designed for racing. On the other hand, if you spend the money for a racing .46, the boat will not handle the power. How fast do you want to go? My Wild Thing with a MAC .21 was radared at 47 mph and I'm not sure there is capability for much more speed in the hull without becoming very flighty. Engine displacement does not always equal speed. Proceed thoughtfully.
