Default RE: DPM Edge 540 T engine choice.

I am currently putting my second one together, the first one i had a YS 140 DZ in it and it was good a 3D, it would hover between 1/2 and 3/4 throttle, this engine kept the plane light which was nice, this time I am putting in a ZDZ 40, I won't maiden this plane for a couple of weeks yet, I am trying to keep the plane light but with a gas engine. Another flyer who had the extra with a 210 Moki didn't like that set up, engine just didn't seem to have the power, I don't know much about Moki's so just relaying his experience. Alot of people put 50cc gassers on this plane, I called DA about it and they stated to me on the phone that the DA 50 would be too much for this plane, The idea for 3D is to keep it light especially in wing loading for 3D. I am confident I will like the ZDZ 40, my friend had one on a great planes extra and it was a rocket, the GP extra was a little smaller than the DPM Edge so I think it will be the right combo for me. What ever way you chose to go, stay as light as possible with the power needed to do the job.
