Default RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly

ORIGINAL: cadconversions

Is there a reason to spend an extra $140.00 for 12 oz/in or torque and 0.05 sec of time? I can't think of a reason but maybe there is...
YES !! the 56xx servos use a 3 pole motor, the 59xx are coreless, that to me makes a big difference. We get all wrapped up in the word "digital" which is only the way the signal is processed, it is still possible to have a crappy digital servo, and they are starting to make some lower end models now. more affordable "sport" digitals, but to be honest, I'd rather have an old analog coreless servo over a "cheap" digital. Don't get me wrong, digitals are great, I use them almost exclusively now, but that alone doesn't make them the best choice, the coreless motors really make a difference in smooth movement and precise centering.
