There are muffler extentions available in 1/4" increments (and I think 1/8" too). This will move the muffler away from the engine, and away from the fuselage. You can order the extension by emailing Dub at [email protected] or calling. Comes with screws.

If its real close, the easy way is to stack up 5 or 6 exhaust gaskets (.010" each).

It is a little tight up front, but it will make it without the extension. Just takes a little bit of sand paper and some planning. Some folks have sanded a bit of a clearance for the muffler. Makes for a nice installation. Image here is a typical example.
