You don't need to sand the prop. The bare wood can soak up oils & stuff, & weaken the wood structure. Get a good balancer, I use the Dubro model, and spray lightly on the light side until perfectly balanced. Use any kind of clear polyurathane paint, or, Top Flight has a product called Lustrecoat, which is the one I use.
