Default Does the Hobby Cost to Much?

The important issue for me is consumerism. I try very hard to minimize all sorts of needless consumerism from my life. For example, over 50% of my grocery bill is for store generic brands (beer excluded, of course). My R/C buying habits are minimalistic, but safe, too. With my reintroduction to the R/C hobby, it is quite obvious that it is mostly an industry of consumer products. The reason ARF's exist is because the manufacturer and seller can earn more profit. It goes along the concept of "super sized". Just sell them as much as you can until they get sick to their stomach. An we clever consumers go for it.

Oh well, at least we'll have nice garbage dumps to make R/C flying fields out of.

Rant mode off.
