I don't see any reed or part of one there at all and in fact I can see the crankshaft when I open the carb all the way.

Any idea as to which engine maker may have used reeds on their 33cc engines? Maybe I can find one and "make it fit"?

I'd hate to loose this engine. It looks to be in great shape and is pretty much ready to go.
