if there is any power lost, its not noticable. Running through gears will give you more torque. (well, depending on the gearing) But...no offense, from what your talking about, you'd be better off just starting with something like a TLT and learning a little more before trying to do something like this. I mean...it just seems like its going no where fast, and that its not really gonna happen.
