Default RE: The GP Cap 232 is almost there

I am still trying to trim mine out for good flight. I found mine wanted to climb way too much, and had to dial in alot of down elevator. It did not land well unless I kept speed way up. I moved my CG back, and adjusted both ailerons up alot (to add down force to wings). That helped alot, but still was not right. I suspect that the engine needs about 2 degrees down thrust to make it fly right. When I have time, I will shim the engine 2 degrees and take out the aileron trim to see if that helps. I read a review some time ago that suggested the same thing- down thrust needed. I was impressed with the overall performance otherwise. If you have one that you have not flown yet, I suggest CG half way between center and rear of suggestion on the plans/instructions, and add some down thrust!! Nice kit to build, though. BTW, mine has OS .70, which gives great verticle with a APC 13x6. Balance was perfect with no lead. I would recommend this engine highly for this airframe. I was just surprised that the downthrust issue is not what it should be. Perhaps GP should add an update regarding this.
