RE: Sig Something Extra Kit
Dale...I thought about doing a boomed fuse like on my P-38 but a few things stopped me. The turtledeck would have to be rounded or made boxy, I couldn't think of a good way to transition the turtledeck into the front of the fuse without it looking ugly. Second, I'm trying like crazy to get it finished this month for a fun fly after I get back from a week long work trip the first week of Sept.
Pictures are coming tonight, I promise. On top of what I said above, I'm also drywalling the kitchen for cabinets to be installed Sat.
___Edit- I just came back to add some pics. If anyone does a twin like this I'd highly suggest just buying two kits. By the time I cut out all the parts for the second fuse & rudder I could have easily had both fuses built.
The first pic is the modified rudder. This worked well on the first twin. Also there is the tail wheel gear I'm using. It's different than whats supplied with the kit in that it has a nylon hinge that will go into the rudder trailing edge...much better than the one supplied which relied only on the rudder for support.
