Phil, I think you are talking about the older AXI mount that is sorta shaped like a cross with radius corners in the center. I have built five of the
www.3dfoamy.com models now and the first two I built had the mount that you are describing. I can say from experience that the forward mount does not hold up. After several flights you will notice the foam on the nose starting to crinkle and then shortly after that the mount or the foam will crack. The two models I had with the forward mount I replaced with a back mount. I run all Hacker A20-20L outrunner motors on all of my models from this company. Hopefully I can post some pics so you can see what I am talking about. By the way these models are the best flying foam 3D models on the market. I also had some trouble building my first one but it was well worth the effort. If you have any questions let me know. Gene.
