RE: Why join the AMA?
Think of this... Your flying your 8 pound plane. You have a OS 61FX on it and your at full power. The plan is flying nicely at about 60 MPH. You go to make a turn and get nothing from your plane... Dead battery? Dead crystal? Who knows... While you ponder what could be going wrong, your plane continues to fly out over the road, or some building, park, or what ever may be within a mile or so of your flying field. You never find your plane. Some days later you find yourself getting a lawyer because your plane caused some damage to someones car, house, building or even to some one. Would be nice to know the AMA gives you $2,000,000 in insurance for $50 per year.
