Default RE: Loving's Love at Joe Nall

The Lovings Love you have seen at Joe Nall for the past five years was built by Mark Glazer of Cary, NC from his own plans that he scaled from the full-scale ones. Apparently, Mark had been involved in at least some of the building of a real one at some point in his younger life. The one he built for RC weighed about 43 pounds and used a 3W-120 powerplant. Although Mark is an airline pilot and an awesome builder, he does not fly RC (yet!) so the pilot duties are handled by Larry Lewis of Raleigh, NC.

As mentioned the airplane suffered some significant damage this past weekend at an IMAA fly-in when, on a low pass, the right wing panel caught some taller grass on the opposite side of the runway and it was dragged into the ground the ground at about 150 mph (they had a radar gun on it at the time of the pass)! The fuselage isn't damaged too bad but the wings were ripped off. Dont' cry too much for them because at dinner on the way home from the event, Mark and Larry were already telling me about the next version which will be lighter and FASTER! Watch for it..........

Here's a few pics of it from this year's Joe Nall.
