I'll jump in here.......I've felt the same thing. I first thought that I got it too slow on the turn to final and it started to stall, but couldn't be sure till I did it later in the day again. There was a dead spot where the controls felt super mushy, then before I knew it everything felt normal. I still can't explain it. I just started making my downwind and turn to final a little faster. I'll admit I haven't flown it much lately, my H9 Sukhoi that I just aquired is getting the most of my attention. But I have also felt the same as you described.
