Default RE: Yak Attack - GP - Lainer - Goldberg??

I am waiting on the Lanier YAK. Have mine on backorder at Tower. Just downloaded the Construction Manual from the Lanier site, and I can't wait to get my hands on this puppy. The manual looks very profesional, with many illustrations. Just the basic instructions, very little details. They assume you are an experienced builder when you buy this type of airplane

Lanier says the plane will take a 50 to a 80cc gasser, but in the manual they state a DA 50 is plenty muscle for this bird. It will be nice if they give some dimensions (i.e. cowl diameter) so one can plan on which engine to choose. I feel that if this plane comes at over 18Lb, some extra HP's won't be wasted. I am looking at either a ZDZ 60RV, a 3W 75i, or even one of the new Evolution 58GX's.

Does anyone out there have heard how the 58GX performs? Horizon claims 8.5 HP from this 58cc wonder. Morris Hobbies was claiming the original MVVS 58GXi would pump 9.5 HP at 6800 RPMs!!! The only review here on RCU of the MVVS engine is not too positive. But it might have been theeting pains on the first batch. Any inputs on this subject will be greatly appreciated.
