Default RE: KMP Bronco

Great Choice - Welcome to the Bronco Camp!!!!
I cant help you much but this what I know:
I just recieved my KMP Bronco. I am very very pleased with the kit. It will be a little while before I start building due to other issues. I personally will not buy speciality gear from Century. They dont perform well, at least on projects I have been involved with and they are very pricy.
Spoke with Don with KMP about this issue when I call about kit purchase. KMP is working with Robart about the possabilty of providing a gear set at a better market price and Robarts will work !! I will be waiting to see if this happens
Soooooo - I can fly with the fixed struts or use a standard set of generic retracts (which I have) Yes I know - they wont be scale but they wont look funny hanging down when flying. I can change to scale retracts when they become available and not have to change much - You will have to do the modifications for gear doors and stuff anyway since the kit is not designed for retracts. Better be prepaired to use paint to match on solartex when you start modifications for any retract gear.
I thought Sierra made a set but they dont show on thier website.
PS: A friend of mine (Gains) has made his own set of super looking very scale gear struts based on (darn) Centry base mechanisims. You can see his work in the Twin Forum - he does not market them but I think I could be tempted to give it a try myself. If your interested I will see if he is willing to provide drawings etc,
