I'm not sure what you mean about the supports, and I have forgotten what the plan looks like, maybe i'll have to go back and look.
I added 4-40 wire bracing from the vertical stab to the horizontal stab on the top and bottom.
The new wing was built using the plans, other than being built as a two piece wing with no dihedral, and extended the ailerons one more rib spacing longer. I don't think making the ailerons longer was a help.
The plane did not turn good with just aileron control, I kept rudder to aileron mixing on most of the time.
I had about 3 deg. right and 1-2 deg. down thrust, you should not need that much with a smaller engine.
