I doubt you will encounter prop issues with the .50. The Irvine .53 is a very popular engine and I'm not aware of needing taller gear with that one. I'm ptretty sure you can use up to a 12" prop without issue. Worst case is to use slightly larger wheels. (Personally, I went with a Saito .72 and the DuBro gear...)
